Transport sector has enough employment potential: Balbir

JAMMU, Aug 11: Stating that there is enough potential and opportunities of employment in transport sector and the unemployed people should avail the benefits of loans to start earning own livelihood instead of waiting for the Government jobs, J&K Scheduled Castes,  Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes Development Corpo-ration Limited,  Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, said that the scope in this sector needs to be explored and availed fully.
The Balbir Ram made these observations during a programme at Corporation Head Office, Jammu, wherein one Mohammed Sadiq, a Scheduled Tribe Community male from Sunjawan area of Jammu’s outskirts, was handed over with related documents and key of a Tata Mobile vehicle financed with an amount of Rs 5.6 lakh, in presence of Divisional Manager, Gulam Qadir Khatana, Manager Projects, Mohd Iqbal Kataria, Jammu District Manager, Joginder Paul Atri and other officials. The financed vehicle has been provided to Mohd. Sadiq to help him in becoming self dependent.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that the transport sector is one of the stable, profit earning and dependable means of entrepreneurship. It not only provides the means of bread earning to a single person but gives employment to others as well. It also provides crucial service to the public and ultimately leads to the economic betterment of the people.
The Vice Chairperson of the Corporation, on this occasion, made a fervent appeal to the loanees of the Corporation to be regular in paying their instalments and assured that the sincere ones can be provided more loan if they complete their earlier dues in time. He also mentioned that many units financed by the Corporations are running successfully in different parts of the State and inspiring the unemployed youth to follow them, which is an appreciable development.
