Srinagar, Feb 15: A family from South Kashmir’s Tral today demanded stern punishment against the alleged culprits who killed their daughter in a case of domestic violence in November last year.

Scores of family member who assembled here at the Press Enclave said that the justice must be served to them by giving exemplary punishment to the killers of their daughter.
Muhammad Shafi Naik, a relative of the deceased told the media persons that their daughter was killed by the members of the family where she was married off.
“The case was handled carefully by the police, with their being hanky-pankies earlier, what we are demanding today is that stern punishment must be given to the killer of our daughter,” he said.
He said that the mother in-law of their daughter was not willing to the marriage which took place, while the husband of their daughter was aiming at taking control of the property which belonged to their daughter. “For that, he had done so many attempts to kill our daughter and later was successful in killing her by setting her body on fire,” they said.
The family demanded that the killer must be punished as soon as possible and an example must be set that those who will resort to such acts will not walk free. “We appeal the administration as well as the judiciary to take the issue seriously and deliver justice,” they demanded.
