Training program on ‘Gender Sensitization’ begins at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Dec 5: A three-day training program on “Gender Sensitization for Police Personnel,” sponsored by the National Commission for Women (NCW) New Delhi, commenced at SK Police Academy Udhampur, here today.
Twenty-five Police officers/officials from across Jammu and Kashmir are actively participating in this crucial initiative. SSP Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Deputy Director (Indoor/Trainings) SKPA Udhampur, formally inaugurated the course.
In his opening address, Rajinder Kumar Gupta emphasized that addressing gender inequality is the focal point of the course, shedding light on the reasons behind women feeling insecure.
The training program is meticulously crafted to encompass the skills and knowledge required to handle crimes against women, incorporating insights into legal provisions and the latest amendments, including the Juvenile Justice Act, Information Technology Act, and Cyber space. Eminent speakers from various academic backgrounds and renowned Cyber Forensic experts will deliver lectures throughout the course.
The coordination of the course is led by Sanjeev Gupta, Inspector, with assistance from HC Ram Paul. This initiative underscores the commitment to enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement in promoting gender sensitivity and addressing issues related to women’s safety and security.
