Training prog on ‘women safety’ begins at SKPA Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Nov 28: A five-day-long training program on “women safety” for 21 police officers from different regions of the Union Territory began here at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) in Udhampur District, today.
A press statement said that Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, and Deputy Director (Indoor) inaugurated the program, emphasizing its importance in enhancing investigators’ competence, particularly in offenses against women, children, and cyber crime.
During the inaugural function, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, urged the officers to enhance their professional competence as investigators, highlighting the evolving landscape of cyber crime.
He said the primary goal is successful convictions, and the course covers investigation skills and relevant laws like POCSO, JJ Act, and IT Act.
Eminent speakers, including academia and cyber forensic experts, will enrich the learning experience through lectures. Dr Kavita Suri, the former Director of the Department of Life Long Learning University of Jammu, attended the function as a distinguished guest.
The coordination of the training program was efficiently managed by Tilak Raj and ASI Sohan Lal, both faculty members at the academy.
