Traffic signals

Sir,
Our State Govt has executed a commendable exercise of installing traffic signals both at Jammu and Srinagar. It was demand of the hour which the State Govt has fulfilled as far aspirations of the people were concerned. This exercise has spared our traffic police personnel from the traffic management assignment and their expertise can now be utilized in other spheres of work. However, it is quite dismaying that traffic signals are being bye-passed and occasionally ignored in violation of the traffic rules. It is important to educate people about the traffic signals through print and electronic media so that they get adapted to the traffic rules and regulations. Our CM has set an example for the people to follow. Recently, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad also followed traffic signals at Srinagar at the time of his visit to valley. Nobody is above law and people should behave as responsible citizens of the State. By following the traffic signals we will not see traffic jams on the roads and will feel relaxed. Now Durbar Move is on its way to the winter capital and traffic on the roads will increase. Therefore, we need to be more vigilant and careful. Road accidents in Jammu city is a grave problem and is a matter of concern for all of us. To minimise the gravity of the situation, traffic rules and regulations need to be adhered to in letter and spirit. Traffic managers are also responsible for the smooth conduct of traffic and accident free journey of the passengers.
Yours etc….
