JAMMU, May 19: A Duty Traffic Inspector (DTI) today got injured after he was hit by a motorcycle in Udheywala (Bohri) area on city outskirts.
“A DTI namely Surjeet Kumar son of Pritam Chand, resident of Chinore, deployed in Talab Tillo area, this morning suffered a head injury after he was hit by a motorcyclist while he was about to stop him for fine in view of violating traffic norms,” a police official said.
He said the traffic Inspector was immediately rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment as he had suffered a head injury. The official said that the biker was not wearing the helmet and was being stopped by the traffic men when in an attempt to escape, he hit the DTI.
“A case has been registered in this connection and investigations started by the concerned police,” the official added.
