Traders protest over power crisis in Baramulla

BARAMULLA, Dec 26: Trade body in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district today staged a protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) alleging that the Department has failed to provide proper electricity in the town.

Members of Traders Federation Baramulla assembled at Main Chowk of the town and staged a protest demonstration over the prevailing power crisis.
The protesters blocked the road for some time, which brought the traffic to standstill.
The protesting traders while terming the power crisis a trend in Kashmir especially in winters said that authorities at PDD lack seriousness to resolve the power crisis in Baramulla town. “We are worst affected with this frequent power cuts in this town. This is a big failure of Government as well as PDD,” they said.
President, Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, General Secretary Tariq Ahmad Mangloo were leading the protest.
