JAMMU, Dec 26: The dead body of a Vaishno Devi pilgrim was found today from a hotel in Trikuta Nagar area of city outskirts.
“The deceased has been identified as Keshav Ram (28) son of Jaijai Ram, resident of Uttar Pradesh. He along with his friends had come for darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi and after paying obeisance to the deity, they had stayed in Shivam Lodge, opposite Railway Station, Jammu Tawi, to spend a night,” a police official said.
The official said this morning, Keshav was found dead in the Lodge by his friends, who informed the Lodge owner and concerned police. He said the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem while inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC have been initiated in this connection at police station Trikuta Nagar.
“Prima facie it appears that the man died of cardiac arrest,” he added.
