JAMMU, Aug 22: J&K Tourism Department along with 1500 leading travel and tour operators from the country and abroad participated in the 4-day IATO Convention held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Deputy Director, Tourism Kashmir, Peerzada Zahoor Ahmad represented Jammu and Kashmir in the convention and highlighted activities and initiatives of the Government with respect to promotion of tourism in the State.
In his presentation he brought to the fore the rich, diverse and all season tourism potential with products like heritage, adventure, pilgrimage, water and snow sports besides the natural, scintillating and scenic meadows and famed valleys of the State.
The presentation also included an audio-visual presentation depicting various facets of tourism in all the three regions viz. Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh.
The Convention saw the participants share their ideas and thoughts with their tourism industry colleagues from across the country and abroad to contribute to the national discussion process on tourism.
Various travel and tour operators from the State also participated in the convention.
From J&K, Nasir Shah of CNE Luxury Holidays, Abdul Khaliq Wangnoo of Hill Tours, Inderpal Singh Third Eye Tours and Travels, Amrik Singh STC tours and travels highlighted J&K’s tourism potential among IATO members and urged them to bring travelers to the State.
“J&K has vast tourism potential and we are here to promote that. We have asked most of the travel agents to encourage travels visiting J&K. Our State has no match in its beauty. We also have heritage, pilgrimage and adventure products”, said Inderpal Singh.
