RAJOURI, June 7: A class 10th student committed suicide after he was allegedly tortured by the two teachers of his school at Nowshera.
The deceased has been identified as Lalit Kumar (15), son of Nishu Rattan, resident of UP, presently residing in Nowshera town. The family members alleged that the boy was allegedly tortured by two teachers of Govt Higher Secondary School for Boys, Nowshera and he tried to commit suicide by hanging at home on May 26. His parents had gone to their village in UP for few days while his elder sister and another boy were at home. They noticed him and removed rope and immediate rushed to hospital.
Lalit was in serious condition and was referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu where he passed away last night. The body was removed to Nowshera today. The parents and relatives of the boy today lodged protest and alleged that boy was forced to commit suicide by teachers who tortured him at school. He had also told this to her sister and some boys of the locality also knew it. They lodged a written compliant at Police Station in this connection.
The police said that boy was unconscious for the last few days and he could not give any statement. But the two teachers Sanjay Choudhary and Gurcharan Singh have been detained for questioning. A case has been registered in this connection.
