SUCHETGARH, Feb 11: DDC member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony flayed the Government for closing rehabilitation scheme for PoJK displaced persons.
In a handout Tony claimed that instead of fulfilling the promise of giving Rs. 25 lakh to PoJK refugees, the Government has even denied the stipulated Rs. 5.5 lakh to many genuine families and termed the move as cruel joke with the hapless population which was forced to leave their homes and hearth.
The DDC member said: “The move of BJP Government to deny the rightful due to the refugees will cost the party dearly as the displaced community will teach a lesson to BJP in upcoming elections.”
“Closing the rehabilitation scheme without providing relief to all the deserving families has exposed BJP Government’s real intentions to hoodwink refugees,” he maintained adding that stipulating difficult formalities for getting the relief was a ploy of BJP government to exclude people from getting the rightful benefit.
Tony said that it would have been much better if the Government had relaxed the formalities to such families which were not in the possession of required documents.
He further said that the Government should extend the period and ease out formalities for the left over refugees to ensure justice to all.
