SUCHETGARH, June 26: District Development Councillor of Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony has appealed to the Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh to initiate a special recruitment drive in armed forces for the youth of border villages.
In a handout, the Councillor said that the youth living in border areas have unwavering dedication and significant role in protecting our borders and they deserve recognition and support from the Government.
He said that border areas of Jammu region have produced brave and dedicated individuals willing to put their lives on the line to safeguard nation’s security but in the absence of a recruitment drive for these areas the youth are grappling with unemployment.
Tony appealed to the Defence Minister to acknowledge the pressing issues faced by the youth residing in border areas.
He said that government’s proactive approach towards addressing these concerns will not only uplift the lives of border youth but will also strengthen nation’s defense capabilities.
