Harsh tours remote areas of Ghordi, listens public problems

UDHAMPUR, June 26: Former minister and NPP leader, Harsh Dev Singh today visited several hilly areas of Nala Ghoran Panchayat including Kothi, Bhai, Janaidi and Thill and took stock of the problems faced by the residents of these areas.
He visited several habitations of nomads, STs, Gaddis, Kolis and other marginalised classes who were deprived of basic amenities like healthcare, power, water and road connectivity.
The people pointed out that not even the civil servants or any other Government functionaries from R&B, PMGSY, Jal Shakti or Power Department had ever visited their areas which were even deprived of connectivity with rest of the world.
They made a fervent appeal for providing road connectivity to Bhai, Janaidi and upper Kothi and called for construction of footbridges and culverts in view of frequently flooded nallahs and streams in these hilly areas.
Locals of these remote villages also raised the issue of absence of any kind of medical facility in these areas.
Speaking on the occasion Harsh Dev assured to take up the issues of these remote areas at the top most level in view of their persistent suffering from decades.
He said that BJP had won five consecutive elections from the area including BDC, DDC, MLA and MP but the people were made to live wretched lives in the view of the gross neglect.
The NPP leader appealed LG to depute a special task force to these areas so that solution for the problems of the people there can be worked out.
