JAMMU, Aug 25: The Law School (TLS) at University of Jammu in collaboration with Gandhi Peace Foundation Jammu chapter organised an interactive session between the students and Gandhian activists-Kumar Kalanand Mani from Goa, Prof. Shekhar Sonalkar from Maharashtra, Manoj Meeta from Bihar, Ramesh Chand Sharma and S.P Verma from Gandhi Global Family. The activists were on a ‘Gandhi 75 Kashmir Smriti Aman Yatra.’
Kumar Kalanand Mani emphasised upon the need to preserve and protect the environment and cited different environmental movements and their impact on the strengthening of environmental laws.
Prof. Shekhar Sonalkar talked about the role of youth in nation building process.
They collectively emphasised upon the contemporary relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in present context of consumerist cultures.
Earlier Prof. Manju Jamwal, Director, The Law School welcomed the distinguished guests.
The interaction session was coordinated by Dr. Seema Rohmetra who introduced panellists to the students.
