BHADERWAH, June 5: Forest Protection Force seized large quantity of timber scants and retrieved 50 kanals of forest land.
As per official spokesman, a team of Forest officials led by Sheikh Zaffurullah, RO Bhalessa under the supervision of DFO Bhaderwah TB Singh has seized 150.82 cft kail timber from the possession of Noor Sain, son of Altaf Din of Shagnani near Compartment Number 51/Bh of Bhalessa Range.
He added that the timber was illegally drawn from the forest during night hours and kept hidden.
A case under Section 6 FA has been registered against the accused and hunt has been launched to arrest him.
In another operation, the team seized 30 kail scants from the house of Harisaran of Mahdan near Compartment Number 109/Bh of Bhalessa Range.
He stated that the accused could not produce any valid documents at the time of seizure and investigation has been started in this case to ascertain the involvement of local staff so that stern action could be initiated against them.
Meanwhile, the team also retrieved 50 kanals of forest land from the possession of Preetam Chand in Compartment Number 109/bh of Bhaderwah Division. The land was under his illegal possession for the last more than 10 years, he added.
