Sir,
The decision of the Health Ministry to give special thrust to AYUSH is more than welcome. At a time when life style diseases are on the rise, any single system of medicine can not meet the demand of people. Therefore, it is important that there are different systems in place which may provide effective medicare to mankind.
Fortunately, India has such systems in place. Collectively known as AYUSH (ayurveda, yoga, unani, siddha and homoeopahy), it can play important role in this direction. But, one is dismayed over their present status in the country, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. The Government has failed to popularise these system among public. To do so the Government must open more such centres where one can avail medical aid. It is an excellent idea that the Government has decided to co-locate allopathy and other form of medicines like AYUSH in the same hospital where people would be able to exercise their choice of treatment.
Yours etc…
