JAMMU, July 30: Three persons were held with illicit liquor in two separate cases in Akhnoor areas.
According to a police spokesperson Rum, 12 bottles of Rum (Himalaya & Dry gin) were seized from the possession of a person identified as Somdutt son of Baniya Ram, a resident of Ghar Majoor.
The accused was indulged in illegally selling of liqour in the area of Ghar Majoor. A case Fir No 137/15 under Section 48 A Excise Act has been registered in this connection at concerned police station.
Meanwhile, on a specific information two persons namely Rajesh Kumar son of Shiv Ram, a resident of Gigrial and Nikka Singh son of Peeru Singh, a resident of Khour were arrested along with illicit liquor (22 pouches of desi whisky and one bottle of XXX Rum).
In this connection, a case FIR No 50/2015 under Section 48 A Excise Act has been registered against the accused persons at concerned police station.
The arrests were made by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Pushpinder Singh and SHO Khour, SI Iqbal Chagata under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor, Naresh Singh and SSP Jammu, Rajiv Pandey.
