Three drug peddlers arrested with poppy straw, heroin

JAMMU, July 26: Jhajjar Kotli and Miran Sahib Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered poppy straw and heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Vikram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma laid a naka at Suketar and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB65AT-9968.
During checking, police team recovered 5.500 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Bhagat Ram, son of Tulsi Ram of District Bilaspur Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 186/2022 under section 8/15/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh and SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta during checking at TCP Kharian intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02U-7962.
During checking, police team recovered 6 grams heroin from the possession of the rider and pillion rider and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Jatinder Pal Singh, son of Prithpal Singh and Ankush Sharma, son of Vijay Sharma, both residents of Lower Gadigarh District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 82/2022 under section 8/21/22/60 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation initiated.
