JAMMU, Mar 23: The cops from District Special Branch (DSB) Jammu and Police Station Bahu Fort arrested three drug peddlers along with heroin and cash.
This was stated by Superintendent of Police (SP) South Sandeep Choudhary while talking to media persons here today.
He stated that on reliable information, the sleuths from District Special Branch and Police Station Bahu Fort laid a naka at Channi bridge and intercepted three persons.

During checking, police recovered 1.800 kilograms of heroin of several lakhs from the possession of the trio and arrested them, he said, adding that the arrested persons have been identified as Kulbir Singh alias Kheer, son of Mohan Singh, a resident of Rani Bagh, Paramjeet Singh alias Pamma, son of Surjeet Singh of Karalian district Samba and Sandeep Singh, son of Dua Ditta, a resident of Chowadhi.
He added that cash worth Rs 2.35 lakh and some mobile phones were also recovered from the possession of the accused, which were seized accordingly.
SP Sandeep Singh further informed that the accused used to allegedly procure drugs from Poonch and supply them in Jammu. With their arrest, police achieved a major success to save the youth from becoming drug addicts, he asserted.
A case under FIR Number 87/18 under Section 8/21/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Bahu Fort Police Station and investigation started.
The whole operation was led by SDPO East Arun Jamwal and assisted by DySP DSB Sagar Singh and SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Parvez Sajjad.
SP said that a total of 155 FIRs have been registered under various sections of NDPS Act in South Zone in past one year.
