JAMMU, Feb 27: Three day workshop on “Positive Self Perception”, organized by the Centre for Women Studies, Jammu University, concluded today.
The goal of this workshop was to sensitize the female students and scholars of the University, to have positive self concept while seeing themselves honestly and further helping to remove the internal barriers that keep them away from doing their best.
The workshop was attended by female students/scholars from different Departments of the University. The key resource person was Abhimanyu Dev Singh Billawaria, Director, Communication County and Neuro Linguistic Programming, Master Practitioner from NFNLP, Florida, USA. He is a Body Language expert and linguist.
Mr Abhimanyu trained the participants on factors that help to manage perception of one’s personality and to practically use these to build confidence, using different activities and live case studies. Some students took individual counseling on understanding their own barriers to success and confidence.
Mr Abhimanyu focused specifically on the role of “Emotional Intelligence” in building Positive Self Perception. Through interactive activities, he trained students on techniques of realizing their emotions and art of successfully handling their emotions.
In the valedictory session, Prof Arti Bakshi, Head, Department of Psychology, JU was the chief guest. She deliberated on role of Positive Self Concept for personal and career development of the youth and later on distributed certificates to the participants. Feedback and suggestions were obtained from the participants.
Earlier, Prof Neeru Sharma, Director, and Centre for Women’s Studies, gave details of the activities conducted during the three-day workshop.
