Three day National Workshop on Research Methodology inaugurated

JAMMU, Jan 30: A three day National workshop on Research Methodology organized  by Govt. College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu begins today. Dr Asagar Hassan Samoon, Principal secretary to Govt., Higher Education department, Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion to inaugurate the workshop. Dr Zahoor Ahmad Chatt, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, J&K was guest of Honour. Prof Richa Tanwar the key note speaker from Kurukshetra University and other Principals from different colleges of J&K were also present on the occasion.
The event began with welcome address by Principal of college Prof. Hemla Aggarwal, who said that Dr Samoon, a revered personality has always shown great interest in research activities and encouraged teaching faculty of colleges to involve in research activities which will give them insight to plan their lectures in a better way for the students. She further said that research in today’s education system is very necessary in order to help teachers to develop the requisite knowledge and skills to become effective classroom leaders capable of implementing the national reform in higher education by developing scientific temperament in teachers as well as in students.
In his address chief guest Dr Asagar Hassan Samoon, Principal secretary to Govt., Higher Education department, stressed upon the teaching faculty to work hard and evolve a smart work culture for the betterment of  student community. Prof Richa Tanwar from Kurukshetra University presented key note lecture in the inaugural session on Research Methodologies with emphasis on Feminist Research. The workshop is being managed by students of incubator cell of college under the aegis of IQAC. Whole event is cosponsored by University Grants Commision.
