Three arrested with large quantity of illicit liquor bottles

JAMMU, Sept 18: Akhnoor and Kishtwar Police arrested three persons along with large quantity of illicit liquor bottles.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar apprehended a notorious bootlegger along with 24 bottles of illicit liquor.
The arrested person was identified as Vijay Kumar, son of Romesh Chander of Jothal Chowki Choura District Jammu.
He was carrying the illicit liquor bottles to his native place for selling among the people to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 240/2021 under Section 48 (a) (f) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Kishtwar led by PSI Deepak Dogra laid a naka at Drabshalla and arrested two persons along with 83 bottles of illicit liquor.
The arrested persons were identified as Nitish Kumar, son of Ganga Ram of Mugalmaidan District Kishtwar and Bablu Thakur, son of Shankar Dass of Dessa District Doda.
A case under FIR Number 219/2021 under Section 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation taken up.
