Srinagar, Sept 18: To review the status of the CCTNS project and other web portals in district Budgam, SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem today chaired a meeting with all MHCs and CCTNS operators of Police Stations at Conference Hall of District Police Headquarters Budgam.
The meeting was attended by ASP Budgam, DySP Hqrs and other officers of district Budgam.
While speaking on the occasion, SSP said that the CCTNS is a platform that will help in the prevention of crime and helps in the investigation of crime cases in the desired manner and at a faster pace. He emphasised upon all MHCs/ CCTNS operators to adhere to the guidelines and instructions passed from time to time in letter and spirit.
He also said that FIRs and other details should be updated in the software on a real-time basis without any delay.
It’s pertinent to mention that CCTNS (Crime & Criminal Tracking Network System) has been put into the public domain for the last few years and all police stations of the district have been connected with the Central database.
All FIRs, Crime details, as well as general diaries and other allied details, are uploaded in the Core Application Software (CAS) for the convenience of the general public.
Later, SSP Budgam urged upon the participants that the details about the process of investigation should also be uploaded immediately so that a transparent e-policing can be provided to the general public as envisaged under the CCTNS project.
