JAMMU, Sept 18: Shiv Sena (Bala Saheb Thackeray) Jammu and Kashmir unit staged a protest demonstration against the Union Government for non-inclusion of petrol & diesel in the purview of GST, here today.
Led by Party’s J&K president Manish Sahni, the party activists raised slogans against the BJP Government at the Centre for not bringing fuel under the purview of GST. Sahni questioned the intention of the Government and said that the Government is in no mood to give relief to common people by reducing the prices of the fuel.
“In the recently concluded GST Council meeting, no decision was taken on bringing petrol & diesel under the ambit of GST which proves that the Government is more concerned about its treasury than the public. The Government is proving to be an all-round failure in providing relief to the people from the skyrocketing inflation,” he asserted.
Sahni said that the high inflation is due to the wrong policies of the Central Government.
Meenakshi Chhibber, Vikas Bakshi, Rakesh Gupta, Sanjeev Kohli and many others were part of today’s protest demonstration.
