JAMMU, Dec 5: A Bhandara was organized on the occasion of Kaal Bhairav Ashtami at Pracheen Bhairav Mandir, Upper Bazar Chowk Chabutra, Jammu on Friday under the supervision of Pandit Rumil Sharma. The Bhandara started on 9am onwards.
Since the mega Bhandara is held every year to pay obeisance to Kaal Bhairav by holding week long celebrations in the form of Prabhat Pheris followed by the Bhandara, thousands of devotees from all walks of life participate in the Bhandara and seek the blessings of almighty.
This year too thousands of devotees participated in the function and paid their obeisance to Kaal Bhairav.
The Pracheen Bhairav Mandir was well decorated and illuminated by the devotees. The members of business community and traders had also decorated their shops on the occasion and a special stall for the children was installed where they enjoyed their favourite chocolates, fruits, toffees, jellies and balloons etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Rumil Sharma said that Kaal Bhairav is reincarnation of Lord Shiva in Rudhra form which holds great spiritual and religious importance in all prayers held in India. He also informed that Rudra Avtar of Bhagwan Shiva in the form of Kaal Bhairav is blessed by the gods like Brahma, Vishnu and Shanker (Mahadev).
Pt Rumail Sharma further said that this is the only temple of Bhagwan Bhairav Nath in the State. A day prior to Bhandara, a congregation of different castes was held at the temple premises, he added. He said no Pooja is complete without paying obeisance to Kaal Bhairav.
