SAMBA, July 31: Thousands of devotees and people from all walks of life from Ghagwal, Hiranagar, Kootah, Rajpura and Samba area attended the last rites of 1008 Mahant Shri Ajay Dass Ji Maharaj of Narsingh Temple, Ghagwal.
Swami ji, a noted religious and spiritual personality of the area, was rendering his services at the only Narsingh Temple in the region for the last several decades. He was highly respected by the people of entire Samba-Kathua belt. After brief illness, he passed away at Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Narayana Hospital, Katra two days ago.
His mortal remains were consigned to flames at Ghagwal town amidst Vedic Mantras by the learned Vedic scholars the other day. Some of his disciples had also arrived from Mathura-Varindavan and Ayodhya (UP) to attend his last rites. Members from Vedic Brahman Kalyan Parishad Jammu led by its state president, Pt Data Ram Sharma from Jammu also attended the last rites of Mahant Ajay Dass Ji Maharaj.
