Range Officer booked in DA case; house, office raided

JAMMU, July 31: Vigilance Organization today registered a case of disproportionate assets against Incharge Range Officer Lakhanpur, Pankaj Khajuria, and raided his residence, office as well as factory premises in Kathua.
Acting on the reliable information, regarding amassing of huge wealth and movable/ immovable properties by the accused public servant while his posting in Kathua district,  especially at Lakhanpur, different teams of the Vigilance Department today conducted raids with the help of local police and Magistrates.

Raids were simultaneously conducted at office, residence and factory locations of the accused public servant at Janglote, Lakhanpur and Govindsar in Kathua district. During the process, all relevant record/suspicious documents pertaining to movable/ immovable properties / benami assets, recovered from various locations, were seized on the spot in presence of independent witnesses.
Further scrutiny of the seized record will be carried out during further course of investigation by sleuths of Vigilance organization in case  FIR No. 26/2017 under section  5(1)(e) section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt.2006 P/S VOJ against Pankaj Khajuria.
Sources said that the accused officer was already under scanner following seizure of around 135 quintal polythene, which was being smuggler at Lakhanpur in a vehicle allegedly owned by his wife.
