Third party audit of e-services

UT of Jammu and Kashmir is poised to be making room for being among the front runners in the process of ranking at the national level as 150 e-services provided by different Government Departments through digital platforms are going to be put to audit by third party system so that effectiveness and efficiency in governance could be achieved which Jammu and Kashmir needs in adequate measure. No doubt, the UT Government has been undertaking various measures in promoting ease of doing business and in that process, many e-services were provided for, which are purported to be put on a unified portal for analysis under National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment Framework which is wholly undertaken by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) Government of India. So far, no exercise has been conducted to assess the efficiency and the effectiveness of such services so that a common citizen could feel the difference and get the required service to one’s satisfaction through on-line mode.
We have otherwise been suggesting for outsourcing auditing requirements , if found feasible, in respect of streamlining the procedure of regular audits and in respect of such auditing of 150 e-services, we feel it to be a right decision taken by the Government slated to bring out the desired results. More services are needed to be started while the existing ones are, in most of the cases, not on the unified portal system because of poor technical support which needs to be taken care of . That will be made known in details as a result of third party auditing of these services so that corrective steps could be taken.
