JAMMU, Oct 29: Miran Sahib Police arrested a thief and recovered five stolen motorcycles from his possession.
As per police sources, on October 20 this year, a complaint was lodged by a person namely Karnail Singh, son of Gurbachan Singh of Dhinday Kalan with Police Station Miran Sahib regarding theft of his motorcycle (bullet) bearing registration number JK02BT-2140.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR Number 136/2022 under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
During the course of the investigation, a team from Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq and assisted by PSI Mahroof Ahmed was constituted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh and SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta.
The team did hectic efforts and with the help of technical assistance alongwith timely human intervention finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Rashid Ali, son of Nazir Hussain of Chakroi RS Pura, at present Ward Number 4 Simbal Camp District Jammu.
On his disclosure, the stolen motorcycle (bullet) was recovered.
During further questioning, the police team also recovered four more stolen motorcycles on the disclosure of the arrested thief.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
