JAMMU, May 15: Satwari police arrested a thief and recovered stolen telecom box worth around Rs 4.50 lakh from his possession.
As per police sources, on March 10 this year, a complaint was lodged by Sheesh Ram Sharma (driver of vehicle bearing registration number JK21C-4237 attached with Reliance-Jio Company), son of Hans Raj Sharma with Police Station Satwari that some unknown person(s) had decamped with CDU Telecommunication box worth around Rs 4.5 lakh from his vehicle.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 47/19 under section 379 RPC was registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, police rounded up several suspects and finally nabbed the thief, who has been identified as Ashok Kumar, son of Bansi Lal alias Kaka Ram, a resident of Tehsil RS Pura. On his disclosure, the stolen telecom box was recovered. Auto rickshaw bearing registration number JK02BU-4538, which was used in commission of crime was also seized.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
