JAMMU, Feb 24: Bahu Fort police arrested a thief and recovered a stolen motorcycle from his possession.
As per police sources, a team from Bahu Fort police station laid a naka and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AN-1798.
During scrutinizing of documents, it came to fore that the vehicle was stolen by the rider as it belongs to Yograj Bakshi, a resident of Sector 5, Trikuta Nagar, who has lodged a complaint regarding theft of his motorcycle with Bahu Fort police station.
Acting swiftly, police arrested the rider of the bike, who has been identified as Suresh Kumar, son of Vasu, a resident of Patna Bihar.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Bahu Fort police station Inspector Kuldeep Khajuria made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Chandan Kohli, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
