JAMMU, Feb 24: A deputation of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers’ Federation (JKLTF) today met Parvez Dewan, Advisor to Governor NN Vohra, at his office chamber here in New Secretariat, and apprised him of the short-comings of existing transfer policy.
The deputation, which was led by working president of the Federation, Maheshwar Parsad, president, Mohan Singh and district president, Dharvinder Singh, told the Advisor that the existing transfer policy in Education Department does not speak anything about the employees working in B2 cities of Jammu and Srinagar of the State, which is the main source of corruption, nepotism and favoritism for the officers at the helm of affairs.
The Federation also brought in the notice of the Advisor that policy is also blind for those teachers, masters and lecturers, who are not going to school and working in the offices of DSE, CEOs, SIE, DIET and ZEOs. The deputation said that there should be fixed tenure to work in these offices and teachers should be changed after fixed time, as the schools suffer without teachers. The Federation demanded that teachers working in these offices be detached immediately as per Governor’s orders.
The Advisor gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured to modify the transfer policy and settle their genuine cases within few days.
