DODA, Apr 14: Bhalla police arrested a thief and recovered stolen items from his possession.
As per police spokesman, on April 11, a complaint was lodged by Durhana Naz, wife of Zakir Hussain of Koorsu with Police Post Bhalla stating that some unidentified persons barged into her house during the intervening night of April 9 and 10 and decamped with Rs 35000 cash and gold jewellery.
Acting over the complaint, a case under Fir Number 38/17 under Section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Bhalla Police Post arrested the accused, who has been identified as Imran Butt, son of Mohammad Shafi, a resident of Malothi, Tehsil Bhalla, at present Koorsu District Doda.
On his disclosure, police recovered the stolen items.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Bhalla Police Post SI Ajay Kumar Engotra made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bhaderwah Inspector Jatinder Sambyal, SDPO Bhaderwah Brijesh Sharma, Additional SP Bhaderwah Shaazad Salaria and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir.
