KISHTWAR, June 5: Police arrested a thief within couple of hours.
As per police sources, a person identified as Ghulam Qadir, son of Ghulam Nabi of Banoon, Bounjwah visited J&K Bank Main Branch Kishtwar and withdraw an amount of Rs 2,30,000. He has withdrawn the amount for Haj Pilgrimage.
After withdrawal of the amount, the said person left the Bank and was walking in a street adjacent to the Bank, where an unknown person snatched the bag.

The old man tried to catch the snatcher but the snatcher ran away.
The old man reported the matter to police station Kishtwar and narrated the whole incident.
A case under FIR Number 96/17 under Section 341 and 382 RPC was registered at Kishtwar police station and launched hunt to nab the accused.
The accused culprit was arrested within an hour and the whole amount was recovered from the possession of the accused, who has been identified as Tanvir Ahmed, son of Abdul Jabbar Sheikh of Saranwah, Thakraie, district Kishtwar.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
