POONCH, June 5: An Army Havaldar was critically injured in a mine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Saujian area of Mandi this evening.
Official sources said that Havaldar Narendra Singh Katoch, of 40 RR over stepped a land mine near the LoC and was critically injured in the explosion at around 4.45 pm. His other fellow jawans however, had miraculous escape.
He was rushed to nearby Army Unit hospital and after some first aid, was airlifted to Command Hospital, Udhampur. He had suffered excessive blood loss as well.
