PANAJI: Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore today sought to correct the negative public perfection that black money is pumped into films, and said the industry is likely to benefit from demonetisation.
“The film industry has been transacting through cheques and money loaned from banks. We used to earlier hear that the black money is pumped in the film industry.
“I don’t think in this age there is any black money used in the film industry. There will be transparency in the film funding due to which good films will get the support,” Rathore said talking to the reporters on the sidelines of ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI) here.
“It is a team effort when film is produced. Right from the spot boy to the film star, everyone works. If money is transferred in their account directly then they will get the exact rates, specially for those working at lower rung. The industry will get the support due to demonetisation,” he said.
Claiming that there are a lot of benefits associated with demonetisation and economic reforms that are being injected by the Modi led government, Rathore said certain section of people who were running parallel economy have now vanished.
“There will be impact of demonetisation on terrorism, theft, dacoity, use of drugs, crime rate.. Everything will be decreased once economy becomes cashless, everything is interlinked,” he added. (AGENCIES)
