Theft case worked out; stolen gold, i-Phones worth Rs 5.5l recovered

JAMMU, Nov 28: Police in Gandhi Nagar area here claimed today they have worked out a theft case by recovering stolen gold and i-Phones worth Rs 5.5 lakh.
A police spokesperson said that information was received at Police Station Gandhi Nagar regarding a t heft in the area under their jurisdiction.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 284/2023 Under Section 454/380 IPC was registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation taken up.
Followed by this, he said, special teams of Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma, assisted by SHO Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Pankaj Sharma, rounded up a suspect identified as Himanshu Randhawa of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
During questioning, the suspect confessed his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, stolen gold worth more than Rs 1 lakh and i-Phones worth over Rs 4.5 lakh were recovered from his possession, said the police spokesperson.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid.
