Theft case worked out

JAMMU, Feb 2: Police in Jammu District claimed today that they have worked out a theft case by recovering the stolen items including gold ornaments and mobile phones.
A police spokesperson said that one Ratish Gupta son of Bhusion Kumar Gupta of Gole Pulli, Talab Tillo, Jammu lodged a written complaint with PP Tallab Tillo and claimed therein that some thieves barged into his residence and decamped with various items including the golden ornaments.
“On this, a case under relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation taken up,” said the police spokesperson.
He added that during investigation, police rounded up an accused, Iftkar Ali of Shiva Doda at present Talli Morh, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, who during sustained questioning confessed his involvement in the theft.
“On his disclosure, the stolen items including one gold nath, one gold tikka, one collection box and eight mobile phones were recovered,” he further said.
“Police have also recovered from the possession of the accused one motorcycle and one pheran,” said the police spokesperson, adding, “further investigations have been taken up”.
