REASI, June 30: The police claimed to have solved theft case and recovered stolen goods after the arrest of the accused in Reasi district.
Official sources said that police registered a case FIR No. 61/2022 US 457/380 IPC at Police Station Reasi after getting complaint of theft from a shop at Salal, in Reasi from one Rakesh Kumar, resident of Salal.
The police teams were constituted to workout the theft case. Police teams scanned CCTV footage from the area and rounded up around 30 suspects during investigations. After sustained interrogation PSI Rajat under the supervision of Insp Sunil Sharma SHO Reasi identified a suspect Anil Singh, son of Balvinder Singh, resident of village- Mogla, Tehsil Trayath, in district Rajouri who also confessed his crime alongwith his two other accomplices.
On his disclosure Police team recovered one transformer, weighing machine and one Mangalsutra (gold) alongwith ear rings worth rupees Rs 2.8 lakhs from his possession. Two accused are still at large. Further investigations to unearth his linkages with other theft cases of district Reasi is going on.
