Theft case solved, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, July 8: Satwari Police today solved a theft case by arresting two thieves and recovering stolen items on their disclosure.
“Acting on a complaint lodged at Police Post Belicharana by a person namely Mehmood Ahmed son of Ghulam Qadir, resident of Belicharana, regarding theft in his house, a case vide FIR Number 132/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started,” a Police spokesman said.
He said during investigation, a team of Police Post Belicharana led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma and assisted by SHO Satwari Inspector Sumeet Sharma as well as Incharge Police Post Belicharana Sub Inspector Sugreev Kumar rounded up two suspects namely Imtiyaz Ahmed Khan son of Lal Hussain and Sachin Kumar son of Sham Lal, both residents of (Poonch Basti, Belicharana).
“During sustained questioning, the accused person confessed their involvement in the theft case and on their disclosure, 2 stolen LPG cylinders, 1 electric motor, 1 gas bhatti, scrapped wire weighing 1.5 kg and scrapped iron weighing 10-12 kg were recovered on their disclosure,” the spokesman said, adding, further investigation of the case was going on.
The overall operation was done under the supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid.
