Theft case solved in Srinagar, accused arrested

Srinagar, Jan 30: Police in Srinagar today said to have solved a theft case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of the crime, besides recovering the stolen property from his possession.
As per police, on 26/10/2021, PS Safakadal received a written complaint from Sajid Basheer Khan resident of Malik Sahib Safakadal stating therein that some unknown thieves have decamped with mobile phones of various brands like Apple, Samsung, Vivo etc, from his Mobile Shop situated at Malik Sahib Safakadal.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide under FIR No. 214/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered and the investigation was taken up.
During the investigation, police said, few suspects were rounded up and called for questioning.
“Officers learnt about the involvement of one person identified as Rafeeq Ahmed Shah resident of Gadoora Ganderbal. He was instantly arrested and on his disclosure stolen property was recovered from his possession,” police said.
Further investigation into the case, police said, is going on and more arrests and recoveries are also expected.
