Termination of Dr Amit revoked

JAMMU, Mar 20: The termination orders of Dr Amit Kumar, Registrar in the Department of Anaesthesia, Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu was revoked this evening after he tendered unconditional apology to the college administration.
Dr Amit was terminated from the services under SRO 525 on March 15 after it was noticed by the GMC administration that he used his personal social media account (Facebook) for posting some inflammatory messages with regard to a lift inaugurated by Health Minister, Bali Bhagat in the Medical College.

However, the termination orders of Dr Amit were revoked this evening after he personally apologized for his misconduct. “Yes, we have pardoned him and asked him to continue his services, as he along with some RDA members came to my office this evening, admitted his mistake and tendered unconditional apology”, Principal and Dean, GMC Jammu, Dr Sunanda Raina, adding, the formal orders in this connection will be issued tomorrow.
Earlier in the afternoon, Dr Sunanda, while addressing a press conference in premises of the Medical College, clarified that the lift regarding which Dr Amit had posted some messages on social media, and many false stories are being circulated on various print and electronic media, is completely new and not the repaired one.
“The old lift, which was installed at the time of establishment of the college, was declared as irreparable by the concerned engineers and technical persons”, she said, adding that the new lift has been installed after fulfilling all formalities and getting proper administrative approval, under the supervision of college administration.
