JAMMU, Mar 16: Jammu and Kashmir Temporary Teachers Association continued their hunger strike here today.
Demanding continuation of their service, temporary teachers assembled outside Press Club continued their hunger strike.
Amid slogans and carrying banners, the protesting temporary teachers were demanding continuation of their services.
Talking to media persons, president of the association Balwinder Singh Pawar alleged that no Minister visited their protesting site, which has demoralized the cadre.
“Both PDP and BJP stress for youth empowerment and it is the time for the Government to come upto the expectations of young generation by conceding to demands like ours”, he added.
Pawar further stated that the schools in the winter zone have opened and without continuation order, they can not resume their services.
He appealed to the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and Education Minister Naeem Akhtar to personally look into the matter and address their issue.
Other members of the Association, who addressed the protest demonstration, termed their demand genuine and vowed to continue their struggle.
Meanwhile, Bhopinder Singh, who was sitting on hunger strike was shifted to GMCH after his condition deteriorated. Susheel Chowdhary and Sonika Sambyal were sitting on hunger strike now.
