RAJOURI, Mar 16: At least 32 persons were injured when a bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Manjakote area of district Rajouri this afternoon.
A police spokesman said that the mishap took place at around 2 pm when the bus No. JK11A/0171 was on way to Rajouri from Manjakote. As it reached at Irwin Khetar near Thandikassi, the driver lost control and it fell into a 30 feet deep gorge. The people of the area rushed to the site after receiving information. The police also reached there and Ambulances from Rajouri were sent at the site.
All the injured were shifted to Rajouri hospital and later, three of them were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu. The injured were identified as Mohd Abbas, Maneeza Akhtar, Mohd Arif from Hayatpura, Naseem Ahmed from Kakora, Rabia Begum from Nagrota, Mohd Razak from Thandapani, Robina Kouser from Sarola, Mohd Bashir from Niyali, Taufeeq Ahmed from Sarola, Mohd Farooq and Khurshida Begum from Thandapani, Liaqat Hussain from Panjgrain, Zahoora Kouser from Sarola, Abdul Hamid from Khatarmal, Shehnaz from Thandapani, Shahida Kouser from Manjakote, Israr Khan from Manjakote, Firoz Mirza from Katarmal, Khursheed Ahmed from Niyali, Shaheen Akhtar from Niyali, Muzaffar Hussain from Manjakote, Khalil Ahmed from Niyali, Muzaffar Hussain from Manjakote, Nahim Akhtar from Gambir Brahamana, Mohd Sultan from Panjgrain, Mohd Ashraf from Rajouri and Khadam Hussain from Panjgrain.
