JAMMU, Oct 28: A meeting of Temples and Shrines Management Committee Board Kashmir was held here, today under the chairmanship of B L Bhat its president.
It expressed grave concern over the encroachment of shrines, temples, cremation grounds and other religious places of Hindus in the Kashmir Valley by the land mafia.
The members present in the meeting also expressed their grave concern over the pathetic condition of Hindu religious places in the Valley due to their non maintenance and upkeep.
They expressed grave concern over the encroachment of land of cremation ground at Fristbal Pampore in Pulwama district of Kashmir Valley. It criticized the Government for its failure to maintain the Hindu religious places in Valley and demanded immediate removal of encroachments from religious places of Hindus in Kashmir. It further demanded that all religious places of Hindus be guarded by paramilitary forces in Kashmir.
Others who attended the meeting included B L Jalali, president, Raina Wari KP Action Committee, D N Koul general secretary, Kishore Kumar Koul, Sanjay Koul, Kewal Sher, R K Jogi, P L Ambardar, Krishan Lal Dhar etc.
