Temples Board’s plea to Govt

JAMMU, Aug 23: Temples and Shrines Management Board Kashmir in a meeting discussed various initiatives taken by the Board for portraying the current status of the temples, shrines and cremation grounds of Kashmir before the community and the Government.
The meeting reiterated its appeal to State Government to shun the indifferent approach towards the uprooted community and their religious places in Kashmir Valley.
The meeting which was presided by B L Bhan president of the Board has appealed the Governor to arrange for the expeditious resolutions of the retrieval of all the properties of temples, shrines and cremation grounds and evolve a mechanism in consultation with the Board for protection of these properties.
The meeting alleged that KPs were misled by all political parties so far as the passage of Shrines Bill is concerned and said that till the Bill is passed the Board be authorized to cater to the proper upkeep of shrines temples and cremation grounds of Kashmir Valley.
The meeting appointed D N Koul as general secretary of the Board. The meting among others was attended by B L Jalali, D N Koul, Kewal Sher, Amit Parimoo, H N Vishen, P L Ambardar, Moti Lal Pandita etc.
