JAMMU, Aug 11: Tehsildar Jammu West, Rajesh Baru today conducted door to door campaign in various areas of Tehsil Jammu West and distributed domicile certificates to 487 people at their doorsteps.
The door to door campaign was conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan.
“The step is aimed at providing respite to the people from the hassle of visiting the offices of the Tehsildars to apply for the domicile certificate”, Tehsildar Rajesh Baru said adding that the purpose of the campaign is that people get domicile certificate at doorstep. He said they are organizing camps to provide domicile under proper SOPs in view of COVID-19.
Baru said that people are only required to provide the copies of State Subject Certificate, Aadhar Card, Ration Card and 3 photographs and they will get the domicile certificate immediately.
Villagers of the area said that it would have taken a lot of time to get this certificate at office but Tehsildar has came at our door step to hand it over without any problem.
Pertinent to mention here that nearly 5800 applications (2100 offline applications and 3700 online applications have been disposed off during the month in Tehsil Jammu West.
