JAMMU, Apr 28: A teenage girl was allegedly raped by a youth at village Mawa Brahmana in tehsil Akhnoor.
Police spokesman said that, mother of 18-year-old girl Renu (name changed) lodged a complaint with police station Akhnoor, that her daughter was allegedly raped by Deepak, son of Lambardar Parmanand of Mawa Brahmana, when she was grazing cattle in the nearby fields.
On the basis of complaint, police registered a case under FIR No 87/13 under Section 376 RPC and manhunt has been launched to arrest the accused, he added.
The girl has been restored to the family members after medical examination, the report of which is awaited, he said.
However, no arrest has been made till late night.
