JAMMU, Apr 30: A teenage girl tried to end her life by jumping off the Tawi Bridge near Bikram Chowk area here this afternoon, police said.
They said Simran (19) daughter of Kamal Kuldeep of Chinore jumped off the bridge around 1:30 pm.
Some passerby who noticed the girl jumping also jumped into the river to save her, police said.
With their timely efforts, the girl was saved and admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu by police where she is currently undergoing treatment.
Police are yet to know the reasons as to why the young girl tried to end her life.
