JAMMU, Apr 30: Social Reforms & Charitable Organisation (SRCO), Kishtwar and Dabur India Limited, provided nutrition support to the students of Deaf & Dumb School, Jammu run by Samaj Kalyan Kendra. The programme was organized in collaboration with the J&K Confederation of Voluntary, Social & Charitable Organisation, Vichar Kranti Manch International and Indian Yoga Association.
Prem Gupta, former Inspector General of Police was chief guest on the occasion, KB Jandial, former Vice Chairman JDA and president Samaj Kalyan Kendra presided over the function.
Sanjiv Parihar Founder Chairman Ashiana Kishtwar arranged nutrition items from Dabur India, which were distributed to the deaf and dumb students and staff of the school. Samaj Kalyan Kendra was established by Dr RR Khajuria, President of India Awardee, social activist, Philanthropist, former MD J&K Milk Supply Federation.
Dr. Jain gave some advisory tips for communicating with deaf people.
He said “Learn how they prefer to communicate. Always speak face to face,. Keep conversation ordered and coherent. Use gestures and body language. Always ask if you can improve”, he added.
K B Jandial was honoured by the NGOs on the occasion for his selfless service rendered to the inmates of Home, besides organizing the awareness programmers by him from time to time.
Ashok Bhat, office secretary Confederation and Narinder Wadhera, president Evening Walkers Association Sector 2, Trikuta Nagar also attended the event.
